Suggestions for endgame hydra sorc

Hey guys, how you doing?

I'm just new here. I'm running a pure fire

Hydra sorc, currently my build is like this at lvl 85. I have a few skill points to spare, and till 99 I'm gonna have 17 total unspent points. I'd like suggestions where to put those points.

I thougt about 3 possibilities:

1. All on

Shiver Armor to buff my defense;
2. Half on

Shiver Armor and the other half on

Energy Shield;
3. All (14) on

Meteor.

All on

Shiver Armor sounds the best option to me, it's a good bump on defense.

Energy Shield with only one point seens to be good enough, since I have much more hp than mp.

Meteor would have sinergies from

Fire Bolt,

Fireball and

Fire Mastery, that I already have. But otoh I couldn't maximize it, only 14 points seens to be a little weak, also it tooks too long to fall.

I appreciate any comment.

I have a similar sorc; lvl 94 now and she can do everything in the game including ubers.

While using only hydras seems fun, ultimately i often find myself spamming fire ball aswell. I'm putting all extra point in

Meteor to boost my fireballs damage.

Being a caster, i don't think having

Shiver Armor is that useful. (High def is cool, but everything melts so fast that you wont often get hit)

If you don't want to cast anything beside

Hydra, you can go for shiver

If you are running ES sorc, you can add points into telekenesis. Sorc has low hp so people want ES if they can.

Here is the setup for my lady. She melts everything, including Ubers. With help from Merc's Infinity she destroys everything in seconds.
It's a pleasure to play with her. She needs a Phoenix for maximum fire damage but I don't have a second

I managed to get three fire skillers which are very good for damage.

One point -

Frozen Armor,

Static Field,

Telekinesis, and

Teleport.
Max - Firebolt,

Fireball,

Meteor,

Hydra and

Fire Mastery.
This setup is complete at level 98.
The only one point left at level 99 I put in

Warmth, for a little mana regen.

I would recommend against

Energy Shield if you have already put all your stat points into vita (which it appears you have done) instead of energy. You can respec and move the stat points to energy instead of vita if you want.
The issue with running

Energy Shield with no points into energy is you'll take a couple of big hits and have no mana at all, meaning you can't even cast

Teleport to get out of there.

Yes, I put 120 str, still looking for gear. A few points on dex for a cta I'm trying to build from a

Flail and all the rest on vit. , when I'm done with gear will reset to get 156 str with +items and the rest goes vit.

It actually already happens, first time I said "wtf?! Does he drain mana?" LoL

Hydra up, this is a good ideia, when reset will put 20 on

So best is sunder. 2 Phoenix. Flickering Flame. And Infinity?

Plus I don’t get ES. It has 30% damage absorb. So you can still be one shot’ed.

I mean I simply did 156 str and rest for energy. Not sure if it’s valid cause my hp still gets the 70% smack??

Meteor, not because you're going to use it(it's surprisingly weak compared to

Fireball ), but because it boosts

Fireball even more and fireballing stuff while they're getting trashed by hydras is really effective.

My current primary MFer is this build at around level 85 or something right now.

Last week while doing CS run, i took down Diablo so quickly i just "wait what"... All hydras right next to spawn, merc with Infinity perfectly placed so he started hitting instantly, while i spawned fireballs.
And diablo just died, didn't have time to attack even once.
Less than 2 seconds.
Most likely caused by mercs first

Jab attack hitting all individual attacks with crushing blow, as he's got 80% CB or something.

Def is pretty useless in d2.
