Famine is a reasonably powerful runeword marred by its high-demand runes. Ohm and Jah are both used in a plethora of popular, best-in-slot runewords such as Call To Arms and Enigma. Because of this, there is neither supply nor demand for Famine, as illustrated by the weapon's "Prices and Demand" history.

I think it's interesting choice for a Melee Sorc. She will multiply the elemental damage with her masteries and she can further boost the damage with Ormus' Robes. Jah also helps because it grants "Ignore Target's Defense", so she will be reliably hitting regular mobs at the least (it's hard to get a lot of attack rating on melee sorc and this mitigates that to some degree). She would still do more damage with Passion runeword and Zeal though, but on the other hand Berserker Axe has more range than Phase Blade (in which usually Passion is made), so it's a bit easier to hit stuff.
