Description

I'm probably not the only one to have noticed that some users were bidding on more than one, or even all of the WTS offers for one item.

It could be great to limites the amount of offer from same user to an specific item

For me, there are 2 big problems to allow multiple offer

From the point of view of potential buyers, this blocks the possibility of making higher offers if not the means.
As of this writing, 7 out of 10 bids for an item are being bid on by the same user ...

From a seller's point of view, if the one who made bids everywhere is buying from someone else, that means the bid is stuck on an auction that players cannot afford.
I tried to sell objects, but the same, people make offers everywhere and we bought elsewhere ... lazy to repost the object because the last one who made the offer bought elsewhere and does not even take worth canceling all its offers.

I admit it's frustrating for me, but I'm starting to give up on the idea of buying / selling here because of it.

As for your own WTS posts, just squelch the user once you realize his offer is not up anymore. This will hide his posts in your thread for all other users.

And in general (apart from the fact that I don't think it'll be that simple to implement, considering that any reply in the thread would have to be filtered to see if it's an actual bid or a random post)... I guess that's part of a bartering market, as frustrating as it might seem. The seller who is fastest to accept the offer takes it.

I can't code out competition from other buyers, so goodbye I guess?

Do you think it is different elsewhere?

In my experience so far on here, this is a terrible idea, both as a buyer and a seller. Now, yes, I understand the frustrations of having potential buyers that post offers and then rescind them, I've had that happen numerous times. But to systematically restrict people from offering on different WTS posts is dumb. If there are people that abuse that privilege, then I think they ought to be dealt with on an individual basis, such as squelching, just not trading with them anymore, etc. Don't restrict other players trading abilities due to the unscrupulous actions of a few, the way I see it.

if I need to buy 5 lightning skillers and can only bid on 5 at a time I will probably take a month to secure all 5. Some sellers take THREE DAYS to reply, by which time I have to inform them I have already bought the item 2 days ago. If every seller responded quickly to offers this would not be necessary, but even you would agree this is an unreasonable expectation. So let's agree sellers are free to wait any period of time to wait for better offers, while buyers are free to offer to as many sellers as they wish to procure their wishlist faster, OK?
