The full bonuses offered by this 3-piece set are impressive, but are marred by the specific - and somewhat contradictory - demands it places on its user.
First and foremost, the attributes of
Cleglaw's Pincers are at odds with the melee weapon needed to complete the set. Knockback and Slow are useful effects, but not for a melee character.
Zeal Paladins or
Werewolf Druids that would otherwise be interested in the set's benefits will find these effects annoying if not outright dangerous. Troublingly, the fact that they are gloves makes them incompatible with the
Arctic Gear,
Iratha's Finery, and
Vidala's Rig sets, all of which are desirable to low-level ranged charaters.
The Deadly Strike and scaling maximum damage offered by
Cleglaw's Tooth, combined with the full set's Crushing Blow and Increased Attack Speed, make the sword a formidible weapon. Unfortunately, the weapon's full benefits are contingent on the use of a shield, reducing its usefulness in the hands of a Barbarian or Druid. Furthermore, the restriction of weapon type prevents Javazons from enjoying the set's benefits.
Finally,
Cleglaw's Claw is simply an all-around underwhelming choice of shield.
However, this set comes together in one build: the Bladesin. Knockback, Slow, mana steal, and a formidible array of offensive bonuses ensure that
Blade Sentinel and
Blade Fury endlessly mow down foes with ease, all while keeping the Assassin safely out of harm's way.
