this might be a stupid question but I have yet to do one and was wondering how much better the drops are in those 3 portals. What significant drops have you guys found in there?

In Uber Tristram, you find nothing except the Hellfire Torch. The mini ubers also don't drop anything apart from their organs. So, these are not good areas to farm items.

They can drop stuff but I've never gotten anything more than vendor trash from the mobs
You can however bind a quad immune pit fiend

I've gotten a Vex in the Matron's Den, but I wouldn't go there specificaly to farm items/runes
