Sounds like an arbitrary rule you've come up with. To the people competing in groups, ladder is about putting your group against other groups.

yeah, apparently the reason for that is so you won't miss a Dclone spawn if you're online but playing single player. It's to give you a heads up to swap over to online if you got a character for it.
